Technical Surveyor / Bespoke Furniture Designer
Join our CAD department — surveying, measuring and producing technical drawings for bespoke furniture.
We are looking for a technical surveyor to join our busy production team’s CAD department. This is a full-time role visiting clients’ homes to conduct professional surveys — carefully checking measurements in bedrooms, living spaces and home offices — and producing 2D CAD plans, 3D visuals and elevations for clients, along with technical drawings for our workshop.
Your day will be spent travelling to confirmed jobs to measure, confirm details, sign production drawings and relay terms and conditions to our valued customers. You will also be office, workshop and showroom based — taking briefings, planning schedules, confirming appointments and producing drawings alongside our production, sales and office team. You must be confident taking measurements, as your plans are the final confirmation before furniture goes into production.
The role includes a commission-based sales element once in-depth product knowledge has been achieved. Full training on sales and CAD will be given. Knowledge of the KBB industry would suit this role. The successful candidate must be presentable, friendly and have an eye for detail, with excellent timekeeping.
What we’re looking for
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role for a bespoke furniture company
- Experience with CAD-LT 2D drawing software (AutoCAD LT, 2 years, required; Arti-CAD experience preferable)
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Your own car
- A smartphone
